Code of Conduct
All registered participants and spectators must abide by the code of conduct. This includes all offerings including sport competitions (netball, basketball, futsal, soccer, touch football), events & wellness. When you register for a Be ACTIVE MELBOURNE sports competition or event, you indicate by your registration, that you agree to abide by the code of conduct set. In the event of being withdrawn from our competition due to breaches of the code of conduct, no refund will be given. All members must be aware of the safety of others. In the event of threatening or inappropriate behaviour, please report to Be ACTIVE staff (venue manager) immediately. Code of conduct includes, but not limited to the below examples outlined:

Aggressive Behaviour
You may not engage in any physical and/or verbal abuse, threats, intimidation, coercion, harassment, which may threaten or endanger the health and//or safety of any individual (including participants, venue staff & officials). Any actions that are considered aggressive will result in suspension or a permanent ban.
2. Control
The venue manager and officials are responsible for managing and maintaining the safety of all members. You agree to comply with the direction of staff in the performance of their duties. Failure to comply will likely result in a warning, suspension or ban.
3. Disorderly conduct
No player is to play under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.
4. Agreement
By registering as a member of Be ACTIVE Melbourne, you/your team agrees to take part in a sportsmanlike manner. As such each member is expected to:

Read the rules prior to event.

Compete with fairness, honesty and safety of all in mind.

Refrain from verbal/physical abuse of players and officials.

Cooperate with venue manager, opposition, spectators and officials in a respectful manner.

Treat all as you would like to be treated.

Respect rights of all participants including but not limited to gender, ability, religion or cultural background.

Shake hands with opposing team at end of match.
5. Team Captain
The team captain is responsible for the players and spectators conduct both on and off the field. Prior to commencement of the competition, ALL players must be registered to the team through SPAWTZ. It is the team captains’ duty to assist Be ACTIVE staff in the identification of players that have breached the code of conduct.
All Be ACTIVE competitions restrict players from participating under the age of 18. However, if a guardian is on site and has provided approval, they may play but will be void from any insurance claim (Player accident insurance coverage).
Dress Code
General Attire: All participants must wear sports clothing and enclosed sports shoes.
Netball bibs are provided to each team weekly. These bibs must be worn during the game and returned afterward. We ensure all bibs are washed daily.
Futsal Teams are encouraged to wear matching colors. In case of a color clash, we will provide bibs, which must be returned after the match. Bibs are washed daily.
Studs are not permitted at any venue. Recommended options include turf boots, indoor boots, or running shoes.

Insurance
Be Active Melbourne holds Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance. In addition, all members have access to Player Accident Insurance Coverage.
All registered players (over the age of 18) are covered by Sports Insurance coverage. For policy details please reach out to phil@beactivemelbourne.com.au. For a member to make an insurance claim, they must have reported the incident at the time of injury to venue staff/officials with an injury report completed at the time. Failure to do so voids the right to claim through the insurance policy.
Please note that Be Active Melbourne provides a minimum level of cover and is not comprehensive. We encourage all participants to take out Private Health, Life & Income Protection in accordance to their own individual circumstances. Players that have previously been involved in a serious injury, are encouraged to seek professional advice from a GP prior to participating. Re-injury of previous injury may/may not be covered by the Be Active Melbourne third party accident insurance.
Refund Policy
Be ACTIVE Melbourne does not offer refunds for Sport Competitions. We may offer a credit for a future season. We reserve the right to charge a $100 Admin fee for any team that wishes to withdraw from a competition once draws have been sent out. If a competition does not go ahead, we will provide you with a list of alternate options, if these are not of interest, we may offer a credit or refund.

Privacy Policy
Be Active Melbourne collect information when an individual enquires/registers via our website and/or social media sites (incl. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn). When registering/enquiring you may be asked to provide your full name, email address and phone number. The data collected will be used to improve our website and or to provide further information regarding your enquiry. Our website is constantly scanned for any security holes or vulnerabilities. Personal information is contained behind secure networks and accessible by a limited number of persons. All sensitive information​ is guarded and encrypted via SSL. Transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored on our servers.
